Provide training and support for interns to ensure success during internship rotations and/or a competitive job. This role involves providing individualized support, job coaching, building natural supports, identifying job accommodations, and utilizing assistive technology for interns at their worksite rotations or competitive jobs. The trainer will also perform job analysis, task analysis, and job matching activities, and carry out job coaching plans. Effective communication with various stakeholders, including the Project SEARCH® Instructor, employers, co-workers, family members, and agency personnel, is crucial. The trainer will also be responsible for training interns in areas such as grooming, hygiene, communication, interviewing, and behavior, as well as providing travel training if necessary. Collaboration with the Project SEARCH instructor/coordinator is essential for making decisions regarding intern success. The role requires attending training to stay updated on supported employment best practices and participating in decision-making processes for training strategies. Follow-along services will be provided to interns once they secure competitive employment, which may extend beyond typical work hours, including evenings and weekends. The trainer must complete necessary paperwork accurately and meet deadlines, aid with instruction, daily planning, job development, and transport interns in a personal vehicle for various appointments and activities. Adherence to host business standards and promoting job productivity are also key responsibilities. The role requires recognizing and acting on legal responsibilities concerning consumer safety and welfare, demonstrating accountability for assigned hours, punctuality, regular attendance, and participation in training activities. Flexibility in handling changes is essential, as is participation in professional growth activities and acting as an effective role model with a positive attitude, enthusiasm, and sound judgment. Effective communication in Standard English, teamwork, adaptability, and maintaining confidentiality are also expected.
