About The Position

We are currently looking to add a dynamic Telecommunications Operator to our passionate team of environmental professionals. This position will be traveling throughout Northern Indianapolis and surrounding areas, travel and lodging are provided. This position requires a CDL-A. Compensation Data Pay: $22-$26/hr based on direct experience PAID WEEKLY $175 weekly per diem 40-50 hour work week Paid travel & lodging

Requirements

  • An individual must be able to perform each essential job duty consistently and satisfactorily.

  • Candidates must be comfortable working full time with a minimum of 40 - 45 hours per week.
  • Must always comply with proper safety standards/procedures and work practices according to DRG policy or the customer's special request.
  • Requires a CDL-A.

Nice To Haves

  • The ideal candidate would be comfortable with traveling from location to location within utility clients service territory.
  • Compensation based on experience and travel flexibility.

Responsibilities

  • Telecommunication Operator will be responsible for performing skilled equipment tasks in accordance with standard industry practices within the construction, maintenance, and operation of underground and overhead telecommunications.
  • This position will be responsible to use various specialized construction equipment in an outside fast paced work environment.
  • Drive and operate a derrick digger truck, coupled with a 30’ pole trailer.
  • Maintain clean valid CDL driver’s license.
  • Work with maintenance crew or assist as laborer when not operating equipment.
  • Train others on proper operation of equipment.
  • Operate communications devices in accordance with company policies.
  • Operate company vehicle in a safe and responsible manner
  • Clean, maintain, stock, and secure assigned vehicle and equipment, in accordance with company policies.
  • Utilize and become proficient with tasks, tools, test equipment and information that will enhance business results.
  • Adhere to industry specific, local, state and federal regulations, as applicable.
  • Completes paperwork, time sheets, test results, vehicle inspection, and logs.
  • Train others on proper operation of equipment.
  • Visually assess digging areas to ensure that areas have been staked/located prior to digging.
  • Must always comply with proper safety standards/procedures and work practices according to DRG policy or the customer's special request.
  • Report all personal and vehicle accidents/incidents immediately to supervisors, cooperate and assist in the investigations.
  • Assists with job site setup and clean-up as necessary.
  • Operates construction equipment safely in a variety of urban and rural areas.
  • Performs site restoration work.
  • Safely load equipment, secure load, transport and unload construction equipment.
