About The Position

JORI Logistics is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional to join their U.S. Customs Trade Compliance & Regulatory team. This full-time role is ideal for an individual with strong analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and a customer-focused mindset. This is not a routine transactional position. The successful candidate will be expected to think critically, resolve complex customs and regulatory issues, contribute process improvement ideas, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure exceptional service delivery and regulatory compliance for clients.

Requirements

  • Experience in U.S. Customs Brokerage, Trade Compliance, or Regulatory Operations.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. Customs procedures, import regulations, and trade documentation requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data entry and document processing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-service-oriented approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work occasional weekends or adjusted schedules as operationally required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CargoWise or similar customs brokerage software is considered an asset.
  • Experience in managing CBP Ace Portal CCS Certification and/or a U.S. Customs Broker License are considered strong assets.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process U.S. Customs entries for truck, ocean, air, and rail shipments, including entry summaries for both new and existing client accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and other applicable government agency requirements.
  • Review, prepare, and transmit customs documentation through CargoWise, including monitoring EDI transmissions and resolving transmission failures.
  • Manage Importer Security Filings (ISFs), in-bond movements, and in-transit entries.
  • Investigate and resolve customs entry discrepancies, rejections, requests for information, and operational issues in a timely manner.
  • Conduct detailed audits and compliance reviews of brokerage files, customs payments, and supporting documentation.
  • File Duty Drawbacks, Refunds, Protests and Entry Corrections
  • File E-Rulings for CUSMA Qualifications and HTS Classifications
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customs compliance records and regulatory documentation.
  • Communicate professionally with clients to obtain missing documentation, clarify shipment details, and provide customs guidance and support.
  • Coordinate with overseas offices, carriers, government agencies, and internal departments to facilitate compliant and efficient shipment processing.
  • Ensure adherence to all domestic and international trade regulations, company procedures, and service standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to operational and compliance best practices.
