About The Position

The U.S. Banks Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function produces the Annual Strategic Plan and periodic forecasts, leads Balance Sheet and Income Statement efforts for the Banks’ Annual and Quarterly Stress Test submissions to the OCC, and provides management teams with financial and strategic analysis. This role offers exposure to a broad range of Finance and FP&A activities for a legal entity and is based in Morgan Stanley’s New York, NY office. The Associate supports forecasts, budgets, long-term plans, stress testing and resolution planning, management reporting, and decision-support analysis for the U.S. Banks. The role involves collaboration with business units and partner functions and contributes to process improvement and automation initiatives.

Requirements

2–4 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis or a related finance role within the financial services industry.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, with high attention to detail.
Strong quantitative skills and the ability to learn new reporting applications quickly.
Ability to support multiple projects and deadlines with a high degree of flexibility.
Knowledge of financial forecasting and planning concepts.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and communicate with different audiences.
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with bank regulatory capital or stress testing.
Experience with the Planning Analytics for Excel (TM1) application.

Responsibilities

Support preparation and analysis of financial forecasts, budgets, and long-term plans for the U.S. Banks, including Balance Sheet, P&L, RWA, capital ratios, and capital allocation, ensuring accuracy and alignment with corporate objectives.
Support end-to-end Balance Sheet and PPNR processes for CCAR, Annual and Quarterly Stress Test, and Resolution Planning submissions, including financial modeling and analysis, risk identification, documentation, and governance.
Use multiple data sources to create management reporting, including Balance Sheet analysis, Revenue and Expense analysis, and Key Risk Indicators.
Perform financial analysis to support decision-making and help prepare materials for the U.S. Banks’ Chief Financial Officer, Senior Management, Boards of Directors, and regulators.
Contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives that enhance efficiency, data integrity, and analytical capabilities.
Collaborate with Business Units, Corporate and Segment FP&A, Controllers, Treasury, Capital, Risk Management, and other teams in support of U.S. Banks deliverables.
