U-Box Warehouse Worker
About The Position
U-Haul is seeking a friendly, energetic, and motivated U-Box Warehouse Worker who enjoys interacting with customers and takes pride in doing the job well. The role is responsible for meeting customer needs and expectations through friendly, courteous service, supporting the delivery and pickup of storage containers, and maintaining the warehouse facility. Training is provided for forklift operation. The position is based at 9201 Pacific Ave, Tacoma, Washington 98444, and is not eligible for employer sponsorship; applicants must be legally authorized to work without requiring employer sponsorship.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
- Adhere to all local, state (provincial), and federal vehicular regulations while driving.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work and must not require employer sponsorship.
- Move a minimum of 50 lbs., assisted or unassisted.
- U-Haul will not hire or re-hire nicotine-product users in Washington.
Responsibilities
- Operate an 8,000-lb propane forklift or a truck-mounted forklift; training is provided.
- Load and unload storage containers onto and off truck beds for delivery to and from a storage facility.
- Ensure timely delivery.
- Assist customers, including selling support items and using online dispatch and rental systems.
- Perform customer-ready inspections of U-Box containers before dispatch and upon return.
- Prepare, receive, and provide appropriate documentation for delivery or pickup of goods.
- Keep the warehouse storage facility clean, dry, and secure.
- Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
