About The Position

Turing is hiring a high-taste engineer to support AI training and evaluation work. The role focuses on preference data and rubric creation, including designing and refining evaluation criteria, reviewing and labeling data to a high quality bar, and building and maintaining pipelines and infrastructure for data generation, collection, and evaluation workflows. The engineer will synthesize findings into clear, actionable communications and collaborate with researchers and engineers to turn qualitative judgment into scalable processes. The work is fully remote and is an independent-contractor engagement lasting three months, with an expected start as soon as possible. The preferred availability is 40 hours per week, with at least six hours of overlap with Pacific Time; candidates unable to commit to 40 hours should provide their availability and overlap window. Compensation is market rate, and applicants are asked to provide a specific rate expectation. The evaluation process consists of one approximately 30-minute interview covering technical and cultural topics.

  • High-taste judgment and the ability to articulate why something is good.
