Two's Teacher for a Preschool Daycare Center
About The Position
As an Early Preschool Classroom Teacher at the award-winning Primrose School of Evergreen, San Jose, CA you will be caring for children aged 2 years to 3 years. Our most active and curious children will bring you joy and laughter each day as they amaze you with their daily growth, vocabulary and understanding. Using our expertly designed and research-based curriculum, the guess work is taken out of teaching and you can spend your time guiding, loving and enriching the lives of the children in your care. The curriculum is provided with clear daily plans, necessary resources, and support so you can focus your time in the classroom on forming connections with the children—and spend your time outside of school focused on yourself. You will be carefully paired with a co-teacher who complements your teaching style and have an assigned Support Teacher in your classroom who covers your break and planning time daily. Your classroom will be fully stocked, with all materials provided by the school, and you will have a dedicated Education Coach to help you develop your skills and thrive in your role.
Requirements
- MUST have 12 core Early Childhood Education units with a grade of C or better required. (Child development, Child-family-community, two Curriculum classes)
- Must have patience and a strong desire to love and nurture young children
- Must meet required state background check
- Must be able to work on an iPad to enter children's daily logs and write incident reports and messages to parents.
Nice To Haves
- Work experience in a licensed childcare facility preferred
Responsibilities
- Engage, interact, and supervise children in positive ways to support their growth and learning
- Provides an safe, attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages creativity, exploration, and decision-making by the children
- Plan with the Education Coach and implement the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule using the Primrose School curriculum outlines and materials
- Complete, supervise and monitor continual evaluation of each child’s developmental needs
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and childcare regulations.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's development and classroom activities.
