About The Position
Highcrest Elementary School has an opening for a Tutor. We are looking for a motivated and dedicated professional with superior communication skills to provide student intervention support for the remainder of the 2026-2027 academic year. The Wethersfield Public Schools partner with the community and families in fostering our students' ongoing education in a safe and engaging learning environment. Requirements
- Hold a minimum of an Associates' Degree
- Enthusiasm for helping children
- Respectful attitude
- Ability to manage plans and drive positive results
- Patience
- Flexibility and adaptability
Nice To Haves
- Elementary Teacher certification is preferred, but not required
Responsibilities
- Implement daily lesson plans for students targeting individualized support
- Work directly with students to provide targeted one-on-one/small group instruction or push into classrooms
- Provide students with positive feedback and encouragement
- Track and maintain records of student progress
- Collaborate with Reading Consultant and Reading Interventionist to communicate goals/achievements, progress, student challenges, and changes in interventions
- Foster a positive learning environment that is sensitive to student needs and promotes increased learning performance
