About The Position

Tutor will adapt teaching methods to suit individual needs for children in partnership with Club J. Experienced tutor is needed to provide support in core subjects such as math, reading, and writing. Also provided a structured approach that balances exciting experiences with academic support while maintaining safety, providing guidance, and demonstrating mutual respect. Club J serves children from Kindergarten through 5th grade.

Requirements

• Has experience working with school age children in an educational setting.
• Enjoys working with children, and willing to provide a fun and nurturing one on one tutoring experience

Nice To Haves

• Teaching experience and degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Will meet individually with students to help them review concepts, become more independent learners, address academic concerns and build confidence.
• Communicate with Club J Director, student and possibly with parents about tutoring goals and needs.
• Help walk kids from Club J Afterschool to their tutoring session and back to Club J Afterschool.
• Hand off student to parent if parent is picking up student from tutoring and communicate with Club J counselors if this is the case.
