Tutor Opportunities with the Learning Resource Center of Polk County
About The Position
The Learning Resource Center of Polk County (LRC), a nonprofit United Way partner with over 51 years of community service, is seeking motivated, talented, and passionate tutors. LRC provides personalized educational support to students from age 5 through adulthood in various subjects, including Reading and Math Intervention, Elementary, Middle, High School, and College Subjects, Test Preparation, Study Skills and Time Management, and Career Certification and Credential Support. Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Tutors are particularly encouraged to apply. Tutoring sessions can be conducted in schools, after-school programs, virtually online, public locations, and community settings. Many assignments offer flexible scheduling, allowing tutors and families to coordinate times that work best for everyone.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Associate degree in Education or a related field considered
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to complete monthly documentation and progress reports
- Energetic, dependable, and passionate about working with children, teens, and young adults
Nice To Haves
- Previous tutoring or teaching experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Provide personalized educational support to students.
