About The Position
Tutor Doctor is seeking enthusiastic, dependable tutors to provide personalized, one-to-one tutoring in students’ homes throughout high-need areas including St. Clair Shores, The Grosse Pointes, and Lake Orion. Tutors will support students in various subjects such as Math, Science, English and reading, study skills, test preparation, and elementary, middle school, and high school subjects. The role involves providing engaging, personalized tutoring, adapting lessons to individual learning needs, helping students strengthen skills and confidence, communicating professionally with families and the team, and completing session summaries.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of the subjects they tutor
- Patient, encouraging, reliable, and professional
- Communicate well with students and families
- Dependable transportation and can travel to students’ homes
- Previous tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or related experience
Responsibilities
- Provide engaging, personalized tutoring in students’ homes
- Adapt lessons to each student’s individual learning needs
- Help students strengthen their skills, confidence, and independence
- Communicate professionally with families and the Tutor Doctor team
- Complete timely session summaries documenting student progress
