About The Position

FreezPak Logistics is seeking a skilled Turret Operator to work in its Chicago warehouse. The role is responsible for operating turret trucks to move, locate, relocate, stack, count, and store merchandise, and for ensuring accurate and efficient product storage and retrieval in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled warehouse environment. The position involves inventory management, safety and food-safety compliance, maintaining warehouse organization, and collaborating with other warehouse staff to meet operational goals.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a turret truck operator or in a similar warehouse role.
• Experience working in a refrigerated or frozen warehouse environment.
• Familiarity with warehouse management software (WMS).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid forklift and/or turret truck certification.
• Knowledge of warehouse procedures, inventory systems, and RF scanning devices.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in cold storage environments.
• Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds and perform manual labor tasks.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate turret trucks to transport products to and from designated warehouse areas.
• Lift, move, and place products at various heights in the warehouse racking system.
• Perform pre-operational checks to confirm turret truck safety and functionality.
• Pick, store, and organize products according to the inventory management system.
• Conduct cycle counts and physical inventories as required.
• Ensure products are properly labeled and stored in the correct locations.
• Follow safety protocols and procedures, including applicable OSHA regulations and food safety standards.
• Immediately report equipment malfunctions and safety hazards to a supervisor.
• Maintain accuracy and efficiency while meeting productivity goals and deadlines.
• Help maintain a clean and organized warehouse.
• Collaborate with warehouse staff and communicate inventory levels, product issues, and operational needs to supervisors and team members.
