TURRET MACHINE OPERATOR
About The Position
Zehnder Rittling is seeking a detail-oriented and fast-paced individual to join their team as a Turret Machine Operator for the second shift. This role is responsible for the setup and operation of turret equipment to punch and prepare material for job orders, ensuring they meet customer requirements. Requirements
- HS Diploma/Equivalent
- Minimum 1 year similar work experience desired.
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work with small hand tools
- Must be dependable
- Must have reliable transportation
- Comfortable working 10 hours a day
Responsibilities
- Reviews job orders to determine customer specifications.
- Sets up turret equipment, including turning on the machine, water power, and hydraulics, and resetting the machine to zero.
- Modifies computer programs to meet job specifications.
- Sets up tooling specifications.
- Performs incoming inspection on sheared material prior to punching, documenting any material that does not meet specifications and obtaining clearance before continuing.
- Operates the turret at an appropriate tempo to meet production quantities while maintaining quality standards.
- Performs first piece inspection on newly punched material to ensure equipment is properly set.
- Delivers finished product to the next operation within the cell.
- Orders tooling parts through communication with CAD as needed.
- Works as part of the team to identify and eliminate non-value added processes and waste.
- Implements and sustains the 5S program.
- Performs autonomous maintenance on equipment.
- Works in a safe manner, utilizing all required personal protective equipment.
- Assists in all other areas of the cell and maintains flexibility to transfer to other cells when needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Leadperson or Manager.
