About The Position

Acme Industries is seeking experienced CNC Turning Machinists for 2nd shift openings. The role involves operating various CNC turning/lathe machines, including a preference for Vertical Turning Lathes (VTL), using FANUC operating systems. Machinists will be responsible for transforming valuable castings and forgings into quality parts for customers. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 4:20 pm to 2:50 am, with availability for overtime, including weekends and during peak production times. This position offers a hire-on bonus and a 10% shift differential for the 2nd shift.

Requirements

Ability to read and write English.
Preferred five or more years of combined formal training and experience or equivalent.
Broad knowledge of machining techniques and familiarity with CNC machine tool operating procedures.
Ability to apply recognized tooling and procedures where tolerances are close.
Blueprint reading ability.
Requires a high school diploma/GED or equivalent.
Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds consistently with heavier weight necessary at times.

Nice To Haves

VTL Experience is a PLUS.
Basic computer skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

Follow written instructions and read and apply blueprint specifications.
Perform a complex series of progressive machining operations on a diversified line of work to close and exact tolerances and finishing specifications.
Able to perform simple set-ups of many jobs. May operate more than one machine.
Check parts for conformance to specifications.
Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean, orderly work area.
Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
