About The Position

The Turnaround Manager plays a critical leadership role in the planning, execution, and successful completion of industrial turnarounds and outages across FLINT projects. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of turnaround execution, including safety, quality, schedule, budget, resource allocation, and stakeholder engagement. Working collaboratively with clients, operations teams, field leadership, contractors, and senior management, the Turnaround Manager ensures turnarounds are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with customer expectations and business objectives. This role requires strong leadership, project management expertise, financial acumen, and a proven ability to manage complex industrial projects in fast-paced environments. Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Oil & Gas, industrial construction, maintenance, turnarounds, outages, fabrication, or pipeline services in a supervisory or management capacity.
  • Proven success leading large-scale turnaround and outage projects, including the management of multi-disciplinary teams, contractors, and workforces exceeding 200 craft personnel.
  • Strong knowledge of turnaround execution, maintenance programs, operations coordination, equipment management, cost estimating, budgeting, forecasting, and bid development.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, build strong customer relationships, and translate business objectives into safe and successful operational outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience analyzing financial and operational performance data and implementing improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, Requests for Proposal (RFPs), and project documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead successful turnaround delivery by managing turnaround projects from initiation through completion.
  • Define turnaround scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria.
  • Develop execution strategies, schedules, and resource plans.
  • Monitor critical path activities and manage project dependencies.
  • Ensure turnarounds are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality expectations.
  • Manage change control processes and mitigate project risks.
  • Champion FLINT's safety culture and HSE initiatives.
  • Lead by example and foster a zero-incident mindset.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor turnaround activities to ensure safe work execution.
  • Support quality control processes throughout the turnaround lifecycle.
  • Ensure applicable codes, standards, and customer specifications are met.
  • Develop and manage turnaround budgets and forecasts.
  • Estimate labour, equipment, and subcontractor requirements.
  • Monitor costs, productivity, and financial performance throughout execution.
  • Review progress reporting, invoicing, payroll, and cost tracking systems.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and operational results.
  • Recommend budget adjustments and corrective actions when required.
  • Build and lead high-performing turnaround teams.
  • Communicate project expectations with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors and field personnel.
  • Manage subcontractors and external service providers.
  • Facilitate productive meetings, progress reviews, and stakeholder communications.
  • Identify and resolve project issues, conflicts, and operational challenges.
  • Conduct turnaround closeout reviews and lessons learned sessions.
  • Develop recommendations for future project improvements.
  • Support operational growth and business development initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Assist with bid development, estimating, and strategic planning activities.
  • Support other operations functions and projects as required.
