About The Position

American Management Services, Inc., founded in 1986, is a national consulting firm specializing in implementation-based profit improvement services for small to mid-sized privately owned businesses with annual revenues ranging from $3 million to $500 million. The firm is seeking experienced professionals to act as interim CEOs or Senior Consultants for their clients. This role involves working directly with business owners to implement changes that improve sales, profits, cash flow, and ease of operation. Consultants are expected to lead, train, and instruct clients, ensuring that all recommendations are fully implemented to produce tangible results. The position requires addressing distressed client situations, including insolvency, diminishing sales, lack of accountability, and poor communication, by confronting problems directly with honest and open dialogue.

Requirements

  • Strong Financial, Operational, and Interpersonal skills
  • 20+ years of solid business experience as a business owner, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Controller, or Senior Executive of a small to mid-size business
  • Prior experience in crisis management
  • Prior experience in turnarounds
  • Proven track record of financial controls
  • MBA, CPA, or other relevant credentials
  • Ready to act as our client’s interim CEO
  • Ready to take complete control of the clients and their business
  • Ability to lead from the front
  • Not afraid to take the challenge head-on
  • Not afraid to address internal issues
  • Aggressively confront each business problem with honest and open dialogue

Responsibilities

  • Act as the client’s interim CEO
  • Take complete control of the clients and their business
  • Lead, train, and instruct clients (business owners)
  • Ensure all recommendations are fully implemented
  • Produce real and tangible results for clients
  • Get in front of angry vendors, frustrated customers, and impatient bankers
  • Work tirelessly and relentlessly to solve problems on behalf of clients
  • Address internal issues that plague clients
  • Aggressively confront each business problem with honest and open dialogue
