At Ryan Lawn & Tree, we're looking for a Turf Trainee who's ready to be both a skilled technician and a trusted advisor — the person homeowners call when their lawn needs saving and the person who delivers results that actually last.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required
Valid driver's license; ability to obtain DOT certification
Ability to obtain and maintain a state-issued pesticide applicator license (turfgrass) within 3 months
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
A curious, problem-solving mindset and a genuine love for the outdoors
All candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen (including marijuana), criminal background check, MVR check, and DOT physical (where applicable) before starting employment. Candidates must meet all screening requirements as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Own your route. Manage a route of 400–500 customers, delivering consistent, high-quality service on every visit.
Learn to diagnose and solve. Identify lawn problems others can't see and prescribe specific solutions that actually work for each individual property.
Deliver the full package. Complete turf bid requests, fertilization applications, aeration, seeding, and service calls across your customer base.
Be the expert. Develop a thorough knowledge of turfgrass practices as well as all other Ryan services so you can be a true resource for your customers.
Build relationships. Provide excellent account management and customer service — earning the trust of homeowners who take pride in their outdoor spaces.
Work hard, together. Thrive independently on your route while also being a strong team member.
