About The Position

Givens Highland Farms, a nonprofit continuing care retirement community, is looking for a full-time Turf Crew Member to join our Facilities Team. The primary purpose of this position is to maintain the appearance of the campus so that it is presentable at all times, and to assure that the highest degree of quality care will be provided to our residents and their surrounding environment. Schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm, however, there is also a possibility of a 4 day work week, working 10 hour days as well.

Requirements

• High School GED equivalent is preferred
• Must have, as a minimum, six months experience in a grounds worker capacity
• Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience with zero turn mowers, weed eaters, backpack blowers, leaf removal, and bed edging

Responsibilities

• Perform duties necessary to maintain an attractive and safe environment throughout campus
• Assist with turf maintenance, as needed, including trimming on banks and natural areas
• Assist in the management and identification of turf grass and its related pests
• Apply fertilizers and pesticides with guidance from the Turf Crew Leader
• Properly maintain power equipment and hand tools, with the supervision of the Mechanic
• Keep shrub and flower beds clean, weeded, edged, and mulched
• Perform any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as-needed basis by an authorized supervisor
