About The Position

With multiple offices, more than 300 employees, and 7 divisions – Asphalt and Concrete, Waterproofing and Specialty Coatings, Roofing, Snow Removal and Parking Lot Sweeping, Landscaping, and Construction, DCPS provides specialized, integrated service-solutions to commercial property owners and managers. The Turf Care Applicator is responsible for applying fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides, and other turf care products across commercial properties. This role ensures proper application techniques, regulatory compliance, and high-quality service delivery. Success in this position is defined by attention to detail, safe chemical handling, and the ability to maintain strong client relationships.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Colorado Qualified Supervisor (QS) or Certified Operator pesticide license, or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Effective time management and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in lawn care, landscaping, or turf management preferred
  • Knowledge of cool-season turfgrass common to the Denver metro area
  • Experience with GPS-enabled application equipment
  • Understanding of integrated pest management (IPM) principles
  • Basic mechanical skills for equipment troubleshooting

Responsibilities

  • Apply turf care treatments including fertilizers, weed control products, pest control applications, and soil amendments in accordance with company standards
  • Calibrate, operate, and maintain spray rigs, spreaders, and related equipment
  • Read and interpret product labels to ensure proper mixing, application rates, and environmental compliance
  • Monitor turf conditions and communicate recommendations to supervisors and clients
  • Maintain accurate service records, chemical usage logs, and required documentation
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling, storage, and application of chemicals
  • Ensure compliance with Colorado Department of Agriculture pesticide regulations
  • Provide professional and courteous service to property managers and commercial clients
