The Tunnelling Foreman/Pit Boss is responsible for overseeing works, ensuring safe task execution by personnel under their control, and fostering a safe and healthy working environment. This role involves motivating the workforce and ensuring efficiency and productivity to meet project targets.
Requirements
- Previous experience within a supervisor role managing Health and Safety on site
- CSCS Site Supervisors Qualification
- SMSTS or SSSTS Qualification
- Tunnelling experience
Responsibilities
- Manage Gangers and Lead Miners
- Ensure that day to day lifting operations are controlled as defined by the Appointed Person (lifting)
- Be responsible for the control of workplace transport in their areas of work
- Ensure that personal protective equipment is provided and used as required by the site rules and procedures
- Maintain written records and site diary’s
- Organise and manage the supply of materials in good time
- To provide expert advice, support and guidance relating to all works during day to day activities
