About The Position

EGS is seeking a Tunnel Inspector for a large-diameter (60-inch) pipeline project in Portland, Oregon. This is a full-time, long-term contract position. The inspector evaluates the structural integrity of tunnel walls, linings, and support systems using specialized testing methods that do not damage the structure. Housing and automobile assistance are available for non-local candidates.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience in tunnel inspection or a related field.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols related to tunnel inspection.
Strong communication and report-writing skills.
Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
Proficiency in using inspection equipment and technology.

Nice To Haves

10–15 years of tunnel inspection experience.
Experience performing NDE analysis.

Responsibilities

Conduct regular tunnel inspections to identify defects or potential hazards.
Document findings and report them to appropriate personnel.
Collaborate with engineers and maintenance teams to develop and implement repair and maintenance plans.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols during inspections.
Use specialized equipment and tools to perform inspections and measurements.
Manage and maintain inspection records and reports.
