We are currently looking for an intern in automation, controls, and electricity (Electrical, Automated Production) within Sanimax's corporate engineering department to work during the Fall 2026 period. We are looking for a motivated and intellectually curious person with a strong interest in automation and industrial control equipment. The intern must demonstrate initiative, autonomy, and a good team spirit, with a desire to learn and develop. The selected person will participate in different project stages, from document preparation to equipment commissioning.

Requirements

  • Student in Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Automated Production.
  • Knowledge of Rockwell Automation's PLC Control Logix and SLC500 suites is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Rockwell Automation's HMI Factory Talk View suite is an asset.
  • Knowledge of OSiSoft's PI Vision Historian suite is an asset.
  • Knowledge of EPlan software is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineers in carrying out engineering documentation (Electrical drawings, Input/output lists, etc.).
  • Participate in the programming of programmable logic controllers (PLC) and human-machine interfaces (HMI).
  • Participate in the implementation of performance indicators in our historian software.
  • Support engineers and work with electricians during electrical installation work.
  • Participate in the integration of sensors, actuators, variable speed drives, etc.
  • Document test and configuration procedures during commissioning.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and industrial standards.
  • Analyze and diagnose failures of automated systems.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of automated installations.
