About The Position

As a Tubefitter at Textron Systems, you will be responsible for the layout and routing of mechanical piping systems, creating system mock-ups, and pressure testing these systems. The role requires familiarity with the installation of marine and aircraft type fittings, as well as installing pumps, models, valves, and pressure switches. Your duties will also include tubing identification, creating holes, installing label plates, drill penetration, piping, and testing. You will use typical tools such as open-ended wrenches and sockets. Work may be performed from Engineering drawings, sketches, written, and verbal instructions, and you will need to read from computer screens for work instructions and blueprints. The position may involve directing the work activities or tasks of other employees and maintaining required records, forms, and logs. This role is within Textron System’s Sea Systems business area.

Requirements

  • One (1) plus year of related tubing mechanic experience
  • Ability to read blueprints, shop orders, sketches, and drawings is necessary to the completion of tasks or work
  • Ability to perform shop mathematics
  • Basic computer skills
  • Willingness and flexibility to work extended hours as needed to accomplish the task or work with little or no prior notification
  • General understanding of metric measuring system
  • Must have high school diploma, GED or equivalent certificate, or bronze level (or higher) for ACT WorkKeys Certification
