About The Position

The TT Mold Preparation Technician is responsible for in-plant CVT mold preparation for production. This includes mold cleaning and venting, mold inspection, and mold repair. The role also involves data verification using systems such as Access, SAP, and GUTS, and requires the ability to work closely with internal teams. The technician will follow all plant rules, departmental safety policies, environmental policies, and chemical handling procedures. They will also operate forklift-type mold handling equipment safely and ensure their work area is kept clean and orderly. The position involves various physical tasks and requires adherence to safety procedures, including wearing safety gear like hearing protection and steel-toe shoes. New hires may be placed on shifts that include evenings and weekends. The job is in a non-climate-controlled environment with exposure to temperature swings, forklift and pedestrian traffic, and noise, with the majority of work completed in a high-heat environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years mechanical experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
  • Must be able to follow all plant rules, departmental safety policies, environmental policies, and chemical handling procedures.
  • Must be able to operate forklift type Mold handling equipment utilizing and observing proper safety regulations.
  • Must adhere to safety procedures/guidelines, including safety wear such as hearing protection and steel toe shoes.

Responsibilities

  • Complete disassembly and assembly of mold/container as required.
  • Verification of all lettering per released cure specifications (TSL, MML open SEI's).
  • Verification of mold parts and serial numbers per internal systems (Access, SAP, or Guts).
  • Cleaning of mold parts and vents.
  • Replace blocked vents or remove broken drill bits.
  • Record all mold data on computer for tractability and audit purposes.
  • Identify mold assembly for production.
  • Mold repair such as replacing worn-out parts or fixing stripped holes.
  • Operate forklift type Mold handling equipment utilizing and observing proper safety regulations.
  • Ensure area is kept clean and orderly.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Mold Lead Supervisor or Mold Services Manager.
