About The Position

The Truck Tire Assembly Setup Tech will be responsible for setting up and adjusting all Truck Tire Assembly Building equipment to specification for quality and production. This role requires utilizing electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic knowledge to set-up, detect, adjust, and correct truck tire building equipment. The technician will supervise and audit the building of the first truck tires after set-up changes or adjustments to ensure they meet specifications and are approved for production. Additionally, the role involves troubleshooting and making adjustments to machines, maintaining surveillance of assigned machines to ensure productive efficiency, and reducing downtime on equipment. Effective communication with supervisors and other technicians is crucial, as is performing work as directed by supervision related to machine efficiency and high-quality production. The technician will also perform routine scheduled MTC checks and corrections, and maintain accurate daily records on each machine to document breakdowns, changes, adjustments, and other pertinent information. Ensuring all ESH procedures, policies, and legal requirements are implemented and monitored is also a key responsibility. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED and 1 year Continental Manufacturing experience or 2 years mechanical experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
  • No relocation assistance is offered for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Set-up and adjust all Truck Tire Assembly Building equipment to specification for quality and production.
  • Utilize electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic knowledge to set-up, detect, adjust and correct truck tire building equipment.
  • Supervise and audit building of first truck tires after set-up changes or adjustments to insure set-up is to specification and approved for production.
  • Troubleshoot and make adjustments to machines.
  • Make surveillance of assigned machines to maintain productive efficiency and utilize skills to reduce downtime on equipment.
  • Effectively communicate with Set-up Supervisor, Floor Supervisor, Shift Supervisor, and other set-up technicians when any malfunction or breakdown occurs.
  • Perform work as directed by Shift Supervision, Set-up Supervisor, and/or Department Manager related to machine efficiency and high quality production.
  • Perform routine scheduled MTC checks and corrections.
  • Maintain accurate daily records on each machine so that a history of all breakdowns, changes, adjustments and other pertinent information is documented for reference.
  • Ensure all ESH procedures, policies and legal requirements are implemented and monitored.
