About The Position

At Regions, the Trust Relationship Specialist provides general and clerical administrative support to an individual in the trust department and/or the trust department as a group, relieving them of clerical, administrative and business detail. This position will act as a Trust Relationship Specialist supporting advisors and managing the day-to-day transactional and support request for complex fiduciary accounts. The ideal candidate will bring experience in trust administration, fiduciary account support, beneficiary services, and experience working with special needs, guardianship, or other complex trust relationships. Additional responsibilities may include: Supporting advisors with transactional request on complex trust accounts, including Special Needs Trusts, Section 142 Trusts, Guardianship Management Trusts, and other court-created or supplemental care trusts. Navigating specialized account requirements, including non-resident alien and international client considerations. Coordinating asset management activities and collaborating with advisors, attorneys, tax professionals, and estate planning partners to support clients' long-term financial objectives. Overseeing account openings, account transfers, asset movement, and ongoing maintenance activities while ensuring accurate documentation and operational efficiency. Monitoring transaction activity, recurring distributions, and account balances to ensure compliance with fiduciary standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. Partnering with Legal, Compliance, Investment, and Operations teams to resolve complex trust administration matters and mitigate risk. Maintaining accurate account records Assisting advisors with trust tax preparation activities, including coordinating documentation, responding to information requests, and facilitating tax payments. Preparing account documentation and materials for advisory review, compliance reviews, audits, and special projects. Performing research and analysis related to trust administration, fiduciary matters, asset transfers, and account-specific issues.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Five (5) years Trust or related experience
  • Accurate typing, spelling and grammar skills required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a business related field
  • Experience in trust administration with a solid understanding of trust office processes
  • Proficient in computer software systems to include word processing, databases and spreadsheets
  • Excellent organizational and customer service skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Responds to routine customer and internal account inquiries, performing necessary research on complex matters and following up in a timely manner
  • Communicates with clients and internal partners regarding account openings, closings, asset transfers, and fees
  • Creates and maintains proper account documentation and files account related material according to the prescribed system in a timely manner
  • Processes complex Trust transactions in a timely manner
  • May perform complex cash and asset distributions from account closings
  • Performs standard account monitoring and notifies leadership when overdrafts or large balances are discovered
  • May forecast client cash needs and provides estimates of liquidity needed to relationship team
  • May perform complex research for tax compliance and asset transfer issues
  • Adheres to all internal and external regulatory requirements, standards, guidelines, policies and procedures
  • May create and organize PowerPoint presentations and Excel spreadsheets
  • May attend client meetings with Trust Officer and perform special projects as assigned
  • May assist and provide guidance to less experienced Specialists
