About The Position

A Trust Portfolio Manager provides expertise in the management of trust and investment relationships, utilizing effective investment solutions that maximize the return on investment of assets under management and meet fiduciary objectives. This role involves identifying and cultivating new trust business opportunities, managing investment portfolios within established policies and regulations, and assisting in the management of the company’s investment process and strategic thinking. The position requires performing various communication tasks, developing new business to further strategic goals, interpreting financial statements and market data, and identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks. A key aspect of the role is proficiency in global asset allocation strategies, including alternative investments, and monitoring portfolio performance. The Trust Portfolio Manager must be an excellent communicator, able to build trust with clients, business partners, and management, and explain complex financial concepts in simple terms. They will also be responsible for writing clear reports, delivering persuasive presentations, and demonstrating strategic thinking and decision-making. Familiarity with trust law, estate planning, and fiduciary responsibilities is essential. The role also requires demonstrating compliance with all bank regulations, following Bank policies and procedures, and keeping up-to-date on regulation changes. This position may involve coaching, mentoring, or training others as a subject matter expert, and actively fostering the Columbia corporate culture. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • B.A or B.S. in finance or accounting and/or equivalent combination of experience and training, required.
  • 5 years of industry work experience, required.
  • Thorough understanding and ability to interpret moderately complex accounting literature and accounting pronouncements, regulations, practice, and theory, as well as the ability to apply this knowledge to day-to-day activities.
  • Intermediate computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word.
  • Organizational and project management skills.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet bonding requirements for employment purpose.
  • Stays informed of developments in security markets.
  • Performs investment research.
  • High level of understanding of asset allocation strategies.

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Business Administration and/or Chartered Financial Analyst designation, preferred.
  • 5 years of Experience with trust software, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and keeps up to date on regulation changes.
  • Follow all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable.
  • May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.
