As a Trust Officer, you will be responsible for the administration of trusts and companies across jurisdictions to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.

Requirements

  • Professional Legal or Accounting designation.
  • 3-5 years’ Trust experience.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks relevant to financial operations.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and planning skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to build rapport quickly with internal and external clients.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstration of problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • STEP (TEP) or ICSA designation would be an asset.
  • Experience working with investment products and services would be an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all trusts and companies administered are fully compliant with the Laws of Barbados and other applicable jurisdictions.
  • Manage the day-to-day administration of trusts, maintaining a thorough understanding of the Trust Deed and the trustee’s powers, duties, and responsibilities.
  • Draft and prepare trustee minutes, resolutions, and amendments to trust deeds, as well as review and draft trust, corporate, and related legal documentation.
  • Review beneficiary requests, prepare supporting documentation, and ensure compliance with the terms of the trust and internal policies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date trust and corporate records in the firm’s database system, including the setup and closure of trust and company accounts on the bank’s accounting platform.
  • Ensure strict compliance with internal policies, procedures, and risk management guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with the Bank’s Client Services and Operations teams, as well as third-party providers in other jurisdictions, to support the efficient administration of trust and corporate structures.
  • Conduct annual reviews of assigned trusts and companies, addressing all findings promptly and ensuring continuous compliance and good governance.
  • Facilitate the proper establishment of trusts, companies, and other fiduciary vehicles on internal systems in accordance with best practices.
  • Any other job-related duties as required.
