About The Position

Snell & Wilmer, one of the largest law firms in the Western United States, is seeking a full-time Trust & Retainer Specialist to join our Finance Department in our Phoenix office. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills who can manage financial transactions accurately while maintaining excellent communication with attorneys, staff, and clients. The hours for this position are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Once fully trained , you may have the option to work a hybrid schedule with flexibly to adjust based on business needs.

Requirements

  • 2 to 3 years of experience working with accounts payable, accounts receivable , or related accounting functions
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a professional environment

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree in Accounting or related field preferred, but not required
  • Large law firm experience is a plus
  • Experience with accounting or financial management systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Record and process funds received into trust and retainer accounts
  • Obtain appropriate authorizations and process disbursements in accordance with firm policies and procedures
  • Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with financial and accounting standards
  • Investigate and resolve questions related to transactions, balances, or payment processing
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with attorneys, staff, and clients regarding trust and retainer activity
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships across departments to support efficient financial operations
