The Trust Administrator will assist a Trust Officer and will support the administration of a portfolio in the Vancouver branch by accurately opening new accounts, preparing initial correspondence, maintaining up-to-date account information, and ensuring timely processing of remittances. Your responsibilities will include assisting with asset and liability statements, client accounting, fee collection, daily transaction processing, and comprehensive asset management such as collection, consolidation, reconciliation, and in-kind transfers. You'll also be minimizing overdrafts, updating asset values and cost bases, and strictly adhering to all CIBC processes and policies to ensure efficient and compliant trust account management. Requirements

  • You are a certified professional.
  • You have enrolled or are willing to enroll in STEP CETA1: Foundations & Trust Administration or any CSI and/or STEP Estate & Trust related courses as well as the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization - Investment Dealer (CIRO-ID).

Responsibilities

  • Assist a Trust Officer and support the administration of a portfolio.
  • Accurately open new accounts.
  • Prepare initial correspondence.
  • Maintain up-to-date account information.
  • Ensure timely processing of remittances.
  • Assist with asset and liability statements.
  • Assist with client accounting.
  • Assist with fee collection.
  • Process daily transactions.
  • Perform comprehensive asset management including collection, consolidation, reconciliation, and in-kind transfers.
  • Minimize overdrafts.
  • Update asset values and cost bases.
  • Strictly adhere to all CIBC processes and policies.
  • Develop and maintain professional client relationships.
  • Interact regularly with Clients, Beneficiaries, Lawyers, Accountants, and Financial Planners to discuss account administration.
  • Perform preliminary research for inquiries received.
  • Conduct investigations and participate in intra and inter-departmental meetings as requested.
  • Prepare QI Documents for signature of the Executive Trust Officer.
  • Prepare Annual Review Packages for files.
  • Update CLIPs.
  • Ensure AML documentation is in file and on TOPS.
