Responsible for washing and disinfecting of trucks and trailers through implementation of established biosecurity production procedures. This role involves maintaining facilities, equipment, and supplies, and requires the ability to learn how to connect and disconnect semi-trucks/trailers to move them into the wash bay. The technician will power wash trucks, trailers, tires, undercarriage, and other parts of equipment, while properly using PPE in compliance with job and site protocols. Additional duties include laundry, performing maintenance on equipment like power washers and wood chip separators, and assisting with equipment repair or replacement. The role requires following specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) outlined by the Truck Wash Manager, including removing and installing paneling on trailers. Prompt notification of supervisors regarding any problems, concerns, or malfunctioning equipment is essential. The technician will also participate in departmental and team activities, complete work accurately and in a timely manner, maintain records, and handle manager requests efficiently. A key aspect of the role is to help team members identify and solve quality problems and contribute to improving departmental systems for optimal operation and efficiency. Safety training must be completed promptly, and all Animal Welfare policies and practices must be followed, with any violations reported to management. Adherence to bio-security measures, including visitor access, sanitation, and disease prevention, is critical.
