About The Position

This role involves two primary functions: Truck Unloader and Highbay Operator. As a Truck Unloader, you will prepare trailers for unloading, break seals, engage dock plates, and inspect trailers and cases for damage. You will use an RF handheld device to scan cases, manually load and unload freight using a max reach conveyor system, and ensure cases are stacked neatly and with quality. You will also maintain a clean work area, use a pallet jack and shrink wrap machine, and transfer to other functions within the distribution center as needed. As a Highbay Operator, your main responsibility is to stock storage racks and remove product from racks up to 40 feet high to ensure product accessibility. You will perform various tasks to support order fulfillment and shipping, including palletizing freight, manually loading/unloading boxes, and operating a forklift/high-bay. Daily inspections of the highbay and battery changes are also required. This position requires cross-training in picking, stocking, shipping, truck loading, and unloading, as well as palletizing in other areas as needed. Both roles require a willingness to transfer between jobs as directed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
  • Must be able to read shipping labels that are printed in English
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have good quality and good attendance
  • Overhead reaching above shoulders and lifting required
  • Bending, standing, stooping, pushing and pulling consistently
  • Must be able to grasp cases, freight, garments and tools as required for each job
  • Continuous long walking and standing hours
  • Must be able to carry up to 50 pounds consistently.
  • Must wear Steel toe Shoes
  • Must be able to pass a written and driving high bay operator test
  • Must be able to read pertinent information in English on a RF device and cartons
  • Must have a high regard for quality and attendance
  • Able to safely and efficiently operate a highbay, pallet jack and/or forklift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds consistently
  • Must be able to bend, stand, reach above shoulders, push, pull, stoop consistently
  • Must be able to grasp boxes, bags, garments and tools required for each job
  • Continuous standing required
  • Must be able to work from a platform that reaches 40 feet high

Responsibilities

  • Prepare trailer for unloading, raise dock door, break seal, engage dock plate leveler, lock in trailer, turn on lighting, inspect trailer and cases for damage.
  • Scan cases off the conveyor or pallets using a radio frequency (RF) handheld device.
  • Manually load and unload freight.
  • Use max reach conveyor system.
  • Ensure cases are stacked in a neat and timely manner with a high level of quality.
  • Observe all safety and work guidelines.
  • Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Use a pallet jack and shrink wrap machine.
  • Transfer to other functions within the DC as directed by the supervisor on an as needed basis.
  • Follow all safety requirements.
  • Stock storage racks and remove product from rack as needed.
  • Palletize freight, manually load/unload boxes.
  • Operate forklift / high-bay to load and unload freight and manually sort as needed.
  • Put cartons into and remove from storage racks that are up to 40 feet high.
  • Operate high bay in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform daily inspections of highbay and change battery as needed.
  • Cross Train in picking, stocking, shipping, truck load and unloading palletize other areas are needed.
