Requirements

  • Journeyman Technician Certification (Truck & Transport/Commercial Transport, Heavy Duty, Automotive)
  • Apprentices (all levels) could be considered
  • Valid Driver’s License (Class 5 with an air brake endorsement)
  • Analytical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read and understand parts and service manuals in English
  • Proficient with computer equipment
  • Health & Safety Knowledge – OH&S rules and regulations guidelines
  • Ability to maintain a clean and orderly work environment
  • Ability to suggest areas for additional training and assist with training of apprentices

Nice To Haves

  • CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program) License desired
  • Experience working on transit vehicles, highway motor coaches, mini buses, and automotive fleets

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily maintenance of the Transit fleet
  • Diagnose equipment problems
  • Perform preventative maintenance
  • Perform government Inspections (CVIP)
  • Complete all documentation associated with equipment repairs
  • Respond to on-road breakdowns on rare occasions
  • Work with Shop Management to maintain schedules and priorities
  • Follow procedures and guidelines
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
  • Suggest areas for additional training and assist with training of apprentices
  • Attend company training programs as required
