About The Position

Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial trucks, trailers, diesel-powered equipment, and related fleet vehicles. Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and breakdown repair work in our Northern Indianapolis territory. Prioritize work orders, adhere to safety policies and reporting procedures, and ensure all service documentation is completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a Truck Mechanic, Trailer Mechanic, Diesel Technician, Fleet Technician, or similar role.
  • Experience with diesel engines, air brake systems, suspension systems, electrical troubleshooting, and computer diagnostics.
  • Ability to interpret and apply wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, and service manuals.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize workload demands.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Adhere to the company's core values.
  • Pre-employment screening required.

  • Vocational or technical certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, brake, suspension, and drivetrain issues on trucks and trailers.
  • Perform repairs to minimize equipment downtime and identify additional maintenance or repair needs.
  • Set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to fabricate and repair parts.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, inspections, oil changes, brake services, and component replacements.
  • Repair and replace defective parts, lubricate moving components, and troubleshoot electrical systems and wiring issues.
  • Inspect used parts and equipment to determine wear and recommend repairs according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Review completed repairs and maintenance findings with managers, communicating any potential safety or operational concerns.
  • Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and repair documentation.
  • Provide daily status updates to management and communicate any customer equipment issues or concerns.
