About The Position

The Truck Tire Technician prepares commercial vehicle tires for warehousing. The role uses hand tools, gauges, finishing machines, X-ray machines, and support machinery to remove vents or flash, inspect tires for defects, and ensure quality. The technician determines tire disposition according to established standards, removes off-standard tires for inspection, records information, and alerts relevant departments to possible or known anomalies. The position also supports safe, clean, and orderly operations while meeting quality and production requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines, including wearing hearing protection and steel-toe shoes.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling, and to operate machinery.

Nice To Haves

• Previous manufacturing experience.
• Associate degree.

Responsibilities

• Operate finishing machines, X-ray machines, and support machinery in the Commercial Final Finish department.
• Inspect 100% of truck tires, determine their disposition according to established standards, remove off-standard tires from conveyors for inspection, and record information.
• Ensure the quality of commercial tires being warehoused by detecting and removing defective truck tires before they leave Commercial Final Finish.
• Communicate effectively with Commercial Curing, Commercial Assembly, Warehouse, and Commercial Final Finish supervision.
• Follow plant, environmental, safety, and departmental policies.
• Keep work areas clean and orderly.
• Follow standard practices for the job and perform necessary work to meet quality and production requirements.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Commercial Final Finish Supervisor, Lead Supervisor, or Department Manager.
• Ensure ESH procedures, policies, and legal requirements are implemented and monitored.
