The Truck Tire Technician will be responsible for preparing Commercial Vehicle Tires for Warehousing. This role involves using hand tools, gauges, etc. to remove vents and/or flash from commercial vehicle tires, inspecting for defects and repairs to ensure quality. The technician will also be responsible for notifying all required departments of possible and/or known anomalies. This position operates finishing machines, x-ray machines, and support machinery in the Commercial Final Finish department, performing 100% inspection of truck tires to determine their disposition according to established standards. Off-standard tires are removed from conveyors for inspection, and information is recorded. The technician ensures the quality of commercial tires being warehoused by detecting and removing defective tires before they leave Commercial Final Finish. Effective communication with various departments, including Commercial Curing, Commercial Assembly, Warehouse, and Commercial Final Finish supervision, is essential. Adherence to all plant policies, environmental policies, and plant and departmental safety policies is required. The role also includes maintaining clean and orderly work areas, following standard practices for quality and quantity production, and performing other duties as directed by supervision. Ensuring all ESH procedures, policies, and legal requirements are implemented and monitored is also a key responsibility.
