About The Position

Southwest Construction is looking for a Truck Technician to join our TEAM! This role is responsible for the proper maintenance and repair of our modern high-tech fleet of light duty and medium duty trucks and towable equipment. The technician will need computer and writing skills to properly document repairs made. A working knowledge of Ford 6.0l, 6.4l and 6.7l engines is helpful. Responsibilities include road testing, inspecting, and troubleshooting to assess condition and diagnose for repair. The technician will troubleshoot, adjust, disassemble, and repair diesel engines, fuel systems, A/C, and brake systems on fleet trucks. Adjusting or repairing liftgate systems, hydraulic components, and wiring systems is also part of the role. Troubleshooting, repairing, adjusting, replacing, and rewiring electrical system components, such as ignition, lights, and electrical controls, including computer-controlled components, will be required. Field repairs may be necessary when equipment is on-site during construction projects. The technician will work in conjunction with other shop and jobsite personnel and must maintain a safe and clean work area. The position requires the technician to possess their own tools and work 40+ hours per week. Availability to work overtime, including weekends, is necessary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
  • Graduated or attending classes from an accredited technical school, OR three (2) years of experience in maintenance and repair of gas light duty and diesel medium duty vehicles.
  • Valid driver license with good driving record.
  • Must possess own tools.
  • Must be able to lift up to one hundred (100) pounds.
  • Requires knowledge of materials, parts, tools and basic principles to repair trucks and trailers.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of Ford 6.0l, 6.4l and 6.7l engines.
  • ASE certification or dealer certified.
