About The Position

Foley Equipment is the authorized Caterpillar dealer in Kansas and NW Missouri. Our Truck Technician is primarily responsible for troubleshooting, servicing and repairing on-highway trucks to ensure the customer receives maximum value for work performed. Hourly Base Rate: $24.62 - $58.30 / hour.

Requirements

• Basic mechanical knowledge including electrical and hydraulics
• General knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments
• Knowledge of use of various on-highway trucks
• Must be able to read and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins and other related publications
• Valid Class A CDL or B CDL or the ability to obtain one

Nice To Haves

• Experience working within the diesel mechanics industry (specifically with Class 8 trucks)
• Stable work history
• All makes and models of engine rebuilds
• Class A CDL

Responsibilities

• Perform all levels of repair and preventative maintenance for on-highway trucks
• Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, give recommendations for repairs and make all critical repairs and adjustments
• Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision
• Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments
• Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers on their repairs
• Travel is required for training and/or to assist at other locations.
