About The Position

Pape’ Kenworth, a premier medium and heavy-duty truck and equipment dealer in the West, is seeking an Experienced Truck Technician to join their team. The Experienced Truck Technician / Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and repairing medium and heavy-duty Class 7 & 8 trucks, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and high standards. This role directly supports customer success by keeping trucks running smoothly and maximizing uptime. Daily tasks include diagnosing and troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical issues, identifying solutions, and restoring trucks to peak performance. Work may involve repairing or rebuilding major components such as cabs, steering systems, engines, transmissions, axles, differentials, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, and air systems. Technicians will have the opportunity to improve skills while working with other trained technicians in a fully equipped shop.

Requirements

2 or more years of experience working on all makes and models of medium and heavy-duty class 7/8 trucks.
Experience with engine repair, electronic trouble-shooting, HVAC systems, and chassis repair.
Basic computer knowledge.
Self-motivation and assertiveness.
Ability to work under little or no supervision.
Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
Must provide own tools.

Nice To Haves

Diesel tech degree and a mechanical aptitude/background.
Kenworth Essentials certifications.
Cummins and MX software experience.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues on medium and heavy-duty Class 7 & 8 trucks.
Repair or rebuild major components such as cabs, steering systems, engines, transmissions, axles, differentials, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, and air systems.
Perform maintenance and repairs to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and high standards.
Support customer success by keeping their trucks running smoothly and maximizing uptime.
Continue improving skills while working alongside other highly trained technicians.
