Entry - Level Truck Technician / Mechanic - Swing Shift
About The Position
Pape’ Kenworth, a premier medium and heavy-duty truck and equipment dealer in the West, is seeking an Entry Truck Technician to join their team. This role is designed for recent graduates or individuals eager to start a career in the diesel and heavy truck industry. The technician will perform basic repairs and maintenance on medium and heavy-duty class 7 & 8 trucks, including troubleshooting, diagnosing problems, and making necessary repairs efficiently. The goal is to support customers, maximize their uptime, and build the technician's skills and experience. The position offers comprehensive dealer-supported education and training, working alongside experienced technicians to develop practical skills in maintenance, inspection, and repair of heavy-duty trucks and related equipment.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of automotive or diesel trucks.
- One or more years of experience working on vehicles.
- Alternatively, a Diesel Tech Degree in lieu of experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic repairs and maintenance on medium and heavy-duty class 7 & 8 trucks.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose problems, and make necessary repairs in a timely and efficient manner.
- Support customers and maximize their uptime.
- Develop practical skills in maintenance, inspection, and repair of heavy-duty trucks and related equipment through hands-on experience.
- Work side by side with experienced, senior-level technicians.
