About The Position

Pape’ Kenworth, a premier medium and heavy-duty truck and equipment dealer in the West, is seeking a Premier Truck Technician / Mechanic to join their team. As a Premier Truck Technician / Mechanic, you will be a leader in the shop, taking ownership of complex diagnostics, advanced repairs, and overall shop excellence for medium and heavy-duty Class 7 & 8 trucks. This role requires a master-level understanding of truck systems, strong problem-solving ability, and confidence to lead by example while upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and professionalism. You will oversee and perform precision diagnostics and repairs, ensuring every truck leaves the shop in peak condition. You will provide guidance and mentorship to other technicians, sharing your expertise to enhance team performance and technical capability. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing engines, transmissions, axles, steering, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, and air systems, as well as executing preventive maintenance programs. Your leadership will directly support customer success by minimizing downtime and ensuring every repair is completed right. You will play a key role in maintaining operational excellence within the shop, promoting teamwork, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will have access to state-of-the-art tools, factory training, and a supportive environment that values expertise, precision, and growth. Paccar - Certified technicians will have the option of working four ten - hour shifts.

Requirements

  • 7 or more years of experience working on all makes and models of medium and heavy-duty class 7/8 trucks, including engine repair, electronic trouble-shooting, HVAC systems, and chassis repair.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Self-motivation and assertiveness.
  • Ability to work under little or no supervision.
  • Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
  • Must provide own tools.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and perform precision diagnostics and repairs on medium and heavy-duty Class 7 & 8 trucks.
  • Troubleshoot and repair engines, transmissions, axles, steering, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, and air systems.
  • Execute preventive maintenance programs.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to other technicians.
