About The Position

The Truck Spotter is responsible for the spotting of trucks and trailers to facilitate the unloading of backhauls/returns, the unloading of pallets and milk crates, and the breakdown of center divides and bulkheads. This role is crucial for setting up equipment and drivers for successful product delivery to customers. The position involves training in safety, GHS, proper chemical use, SOPs, SSOPs, DOT requirements, and ELD usage.

Responsibilities

Spotting trucks and trailers to dock doors and taking them out.
Fueling equipment.
Keeping premises, grounds, yard, and lot in a clean and safe working order, including picking up nails and debris and using a magnet yard.
Hooking up and dropping trailers, ensuring dolly legs are fully raised.
Facilitating equipment moves for sales, equipment moves, and maintenance.
Rescuing drivers as needed.
Proper precooling of equipment per FDA regulations.
Taking vehicles to various service providers and picking up equipment.
Inspecting equipment for necessary maintenance.
Reporting incidents of broken, damaged, or missing equipment.
Handling backhauls.
Performing minor repairs, jump starts, reefer priming, checking lights and fuses, and unsticking frozen brakes.
Removing pallets and milk crates from trucks and trailers.
Stowing bulkheads and center divides in trucks and trailers.
Maintaining cleanliness of docks and dock pits.
Moving vehicles with backhauls into the dock as required.
Performing interior building and warehouse cleanliness tasks.
Conducting snow removal.
Verifying proper reefer settings.
Filling in where needed in case of call-offs or personnel on vacation.
Ensuring OOS service equipment is handled correctly.
Ensuring proper equipment is assigned to routes.
Checking sleeper day cab, trailer, stinger cord, 48/53' trailer, 36' trailer, and OTR routes.
Verifying interior and exterior lights work.
Ensuring reefer settings and precooling are correct.
Ensuring reefer works correctly.
Practicing sanitary loading practices.
Other duties as assigned.
