About The Position

This position is responsible for maintenance and preventative maintenance on diesel engine trucks and trailers while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The schedule for this role is Sunday through Thursday, from 11:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. Pay is determined by skill level, with a base pay range of $20.30 - $29.00 per hour, based on experience. An additional $1 per hour is offered for a CDL, and $2 per hour for a welding certificate.

Requirements

  • Must have basic mechanical or maintenance skills.
  • Must supply own tools for minimum maintenance.
  • Must have the ability to lift 60-100 pounds.
  • Must be able to work on stairs and ladders up to 20 feet.
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, and reach.
  • Must be able to work in extreme hot, cold, inclement weather, and odors.
  • Must be able to use basic electrical, pneumatic, and hand tools.
  • Must have the ability to read and understand policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Must have the ability to document information.
  • Must have the ability to communicate with others written and verbally.
  • Mechanical/maintenance skills listed in work history or skills section of application.
  • Minimum 180 day waiting period from previous Tyson employment.
  • Must be willing to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to provide proof of authorization to work legally in the United States.
  • Must pass a urinalysis screening.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Minimum Tool List: Combination Wrenches (SAE: 1/4" to 1-1/4", Metric: 6 mm to 26 mm), 3/8" Drive Socket Set (SAE: 1/4" to 15/16", Metric: 6 mm to 20 mm, including ratchet, 3" extension, 6" extension), 1/2" Drive Socket Set (SAE: 9/16" to 1-1/4", Metric: 14 mm to 26 mm, including ratchet, 3" extension, 6" extension), Screwdrivers (Straight blade, Phillips, Torx Drivers/Bits T5 through T55), Allen Wrenches/Bits (SAE: 1/16" to 5/16", Metric: 1.5 mm to 5.5 mm), Pry Bars (three different lengths), Pliers (Needle-nose, Channel-lock, Vise-grip), Adjustable Wrenches (two different sizes), Electrical Tools (12-volt electrical test light), Hammers (Assorted), Toolbox (Lockable, securable, large enough to safely store all required tools and equipment).

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers, including oil changes and greasing.
