About The Position
We are seeking a skilled Level II Diesel Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will take on more complex diagnostics and repairs while mentoring Level I mechanics. Your experience will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and safety of our fleet.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in diesel mechanics preferred.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience as a diesel mechanic.
- Level II certification in diesel mechanics or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, fuel systems, electrical systems, and hydraulics.
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong leadership skills.
- Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.

Responsibilities
- Perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on diesel engines and related systems.
- Conduct thorough routine maintenance and inspections, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Oversee and mentor Level I mechanics and apprentices, providing training and support.
- Lead the identification and resolution of mechanical issues, improving overall shop efficiency.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance, and parts used.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding repair needs and progress.
- Ensure the work area is safe, organized, and equipped with the necessary tools and equipment.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance repair processes and team performance.
