The County of Riverside's TLMA Transportation Department has multiple opportunities for Truck Mechanics, located in Riverside. The Truck Mechanic will be tasked to perform a wide range of services on medium and heavy-duty gas and diesel trucks and trailers. Responsibilities will include servicing, adjusting, diagnosing and repairing mechanical defects. Experience in differentials, starters, alternators, hydraulic and air brake systems, clutches, axles, steering gears, suspension components, carburetors, fuel injection systems, cooling systems, air conditioning systems electrical systems is required. Including, mechanical experience with Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles. The most competitive candidates will be experienced with: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, CAT ET, CUMMINS In-Site and Bendix software programs; knowledgeable of Asset Works or other preventative maintenance software and able to maintain vehicle records in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) standards. Basic Inspection of Terminals (BIT) program knowledge and/or welding/fabrication are highly desired. The selected candidate may be required to supply their own basic tools to perform the essential functions of the Truck Mechanic position. The anticipated work schedule is 4/10.
