Requirements

  • Strong understanding of the ins and outs of big trailer trucks (Class 6, 7 and 8 trucks), including the ability to assemble and disassemble trailer components as needed
  • Proven experience as a truck or bus mechanic, with hands-on experience specifically working with Class 6, 7, and 8 trucks.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of diesel engine systems, electrical systems, transmission systems, and other critical components relevant to Class 6, 7, and 8 trucks.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues in heavy-duty trucks, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and safety practices related to truck and bus maintenance and repair.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams to facilitate repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Experience in performing routine maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on Class 6, 7, and 8 trucks, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of pressure sensors and their applications is a plus but not required
  • Instrumentation experience is a plus but not required; training will be provided

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, instrument, and upgrade prototype test objects, specifically focusing on Class 6, 7, and 8 trucks, in close cooperation with design engineering to support comprehensive testing activities in state-of-the-art test facilities.
  • Build standard assembly and more advanced prototypes of Class 6, 7, and 8 trucks, maintaining close collaboration with the engineering network to ensure all specifications and performance standards are met.
  • Assemble and configure the test vehicle or engine, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Efficiently repair vehicles and engines in the event of breakdowns, employing advanced diagnostic techniques and tools to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Fine-tune Class 6, 7, and 8 vehicles/engines to enhance performance, efficiency, and reliability, utilizing both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
  • Conduct regular troubleshooting and maintenance checks on Class 6, 7, and 8 trucks, proactively identifying potential issues and implementing preventative measures to extend vehicle lifespan and enhance performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide feedback on design improvements and performance enhancements based on hands-on testing experiences and outcomes.
  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to Class 6, 7, and 8 truck mechanics, ensuring top-tier service delivery and technical expertise.
