About The Position

The Truck Helper/Laborer is responsible for performing material handling tasks as assigned. This role involves assisting the Truck Driver with loading and unloading trucks, directing the driver during backing maneuvers, and moving products between locations. The position also includes general housekeeping, safety duties, building maintenance such as sweeping floors and sidewalks, and quality/material control. The role requires interaction with the general public, responding to customer feedback, and maintaining a positive public image for the store.

Requirements

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
• Must be able to reach with hands and arms.
• Must be able to push or pull.
• Must be able to occasionally sit, kneel, and climb.
• Must be able to regularly stoop, bend, squat, reach turn and twist body.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted.
• Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds with assistance.
• Good work habits, such as acceptable attitude and punctuality.
• Must respond appropriately to supervision.
• Must possess adequate physical endurance to work at industrial standards.

Nice To Haves

• A high school diploma is desirable, but not necessary.
• On-the-job training is conducted.

Responsibilities

• Assists Truck Driver in unloading/loading trucks.
• Helps to direct Truck Driver when backing in to locations.
• Moving of product from one location to another.
• General housekeeping and safety.
• General building maintenance: sweep floors/sweep shovel sidewalks as directed.
• Quality and material control.
• Other duties as directed by the Truck Driver and Store Manager.
