About The Position

This is a full-time position responsible for monitoring daily traffic entering and leaving the Tyson Berry Street facility, answering the phone and transferring calls, and giving breaks and filling in at the scale house and team member entrance posts. Constant communication with plant management, truck drivers, vendors, Berry Street customers, and Team Members is necessary. This position maintains paperwork for inbound and outbound loads, verifies information for accuracy, completes inspections, and ensures any issues identified are reported and followed up on. This position will be responsible for lot checks of trailers, and water readings, and monitoring the parking lot during their designated hours. This position is responsible for monitoring what is brought into and out of the facility and enforcing Tyson policies. Position is required to rotate to other posts to fill absenteeism and give breaks which requires contact with live poultry, and the ability to enter data into a computer-based scale system. Must be able to pass a background check. Other job duties may be assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • 6 Months of relevant work experience that correlates with job duties required
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Must have excellent attendance (less than 3 points for internal applicants), disciplinary, and safety record.
  • Must be able to work in both hot and cold temperatures
  • Must be able to walk for an extended length of time on rock and concrete
  • Must be able to climb stairs to reach elevated surfaces
  • Must also be able to work both independently and under supervision
  • Must have a positive work ethic
  • The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 6 months security or scale operation experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills are necessary
  • Data entry experience is preferred
  • Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate under stressful situations
  • Previous security or data entry experience preferred
  • There is 180 days (6 months) waiting period for former Tyson Foods team members.
  • Max of two previous Tyson employments to be considered for hire.
