Requirements

  • GED/High School Diploma or Experience.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend and have basic math knowledge.
  • Ability to use Crane and hoists.
  • Ability to use power tools and machinery.
  • Read and execute instructions as found on blueprints.
  • Ability to read and understand a tape measure.
  • Perform basic math.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 45 lbs. without assistance.
  • Safely use hand, air, pneumatic, and power tools, and machinery.
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Structured training or relevant work experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to reason and problem-solve as it pertains to position.
  • Ability to learn and navigate manufacturing software.
  • One year certificate from college or technical school in welding/fabrication or relevant experience.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
  • Ability to work from various squatting, kneeling, or bending positions.
  • Ability to read, understand, and carry out instructions as detailed in blueprints.
  • Proficient in adding, subtracting, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

  • Build and assemble various truck components to specification per customer requirements.
  • Install and/or maintain all electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on assigned projects and builds.
  • Perform welding and fabrication tasks in order to build, modify, and follow specifications.
  • Maintain shop equipment for safe use in operation.
  • Complete repairs and replace malfunctioning parts to return working operation of truck components.
  • Read and interpret assembly prints and bills of material.
  • Gathers and positions materials and parts according to Assembly documentation or verbal instruction.
  • Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners.
  • Uses and operates various pneumatic, electrical, and manual hand tools.
  • Reports any issues with product or equipment to the department lead.
  • Position work pieces against stops or align layout marks with the die or blade.
  • Observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects and malfunction.
  • Measure workpiece dimensions with the necessary tools.
  • Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust, and scale from work pieces.
  • Spot weld workpieces.
  • Reads and comprehends blueprints.
  • Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding from blueprints.
  • Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together.
  • Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds part to secure in position for welding.
  • Sets up equipment and welds parts, GMAW MIG.
  • Fabricate and design non-engineered parts.
