About The Position

Drive/operate ten (10) yard dump truck with trailer and other County equipment to facilitate the construction, repair, rebuilding and all related maintenance of roadways. This role involves operating heavy dump trucks, pup trailers, low-boys, tilt trailers and tankers for repair, maintenance and construction of roadways. The position also requires performing preventative maintenance and servicing of assigned equipment to ensure safe, operational status, and ensuring a safe work environment for maintenance crews and the general public.

Requirements

• Valid Washington State Combination Drivers License.
• Flagger Certification.
• Experience related to the trucking and hauling industry.
• Ability to service and perform preventative maintenance on assigned equipment to ensure safe, efficient operation.
• Ability to recognize hazards and safety problems.
• Knowledge of laws, regulations and requirements related to the trucking industry to ensure safety of employees and the general public.
• Knowledge of modern practices, methods and materials used in maintenance, repair and construction of roadways.
• Ability to maintain effective relationships with other employees.
• Ability to communicate, understand and carry out oral and written instruction.

Nice To Haves

• State Pesticide License (Possible requirement).

Responsibilities

• Operation of heavy dump trucks, pup trailers, low-boys, tilt trailers and tankers for repair, maintenance and construction of roadways.

• Ensure a safe work environment for maintenance crews and the general public.
• Safely drive truck/trailer combinations on narrow roadways, with no shoulders in all traffic situations.
• Successfully complete required training courses.
